Educational Opportunities

Annual Conference

 Each year the APT US & C offers an exceptional, educational conference in order to enhance the education of their members. The Annual Conference is hosted in a different city each year. Members will receive significant discounts on registration fees for the APT US & C Annual Conferences. Educational tracks include Cash Management, Investment Management, Debt, Technology, Pension and Other.

International Academy

These intense all day seminars serve as basic training classes for new treasurers and a great refresher course for returning treasurers. The Academy provides continued educational opportunities and points toward CPFA certification of treasurers.

The Beginner Academy will include classes such as: Role of the Treasurer, Budget Preparation, Basic Investing and Understanding the Audit Process. The Intermediate Academy will include classes such as: How to Deal With Office Issues, Financial Forecasting, Advanced Investing and Identity Theft.

E-Learning Center

The E-Learning Center offers a wide variety of educational opportunities to participate in without leaving your office. As an APT US & C member you can view the past presentations and audio from the Annual Conferences. The E-Learning Center includes a range of investment training, professional development seminars, and sample approved certifications.

Publications, Manuals and Seminars

The APT US & C has an alliance with the Public Treasury Institute (PTI). The PTI coordinates training seminars and publishes educational training manualsf or the membership and other public treasury officials.

APT US & C members receive discounts on the PTI training manuals. The manuals and seminars are internationally recognized and are written and taught by public finance professionals. Topics include Cash Handling, Cash Collections, Debt, Guide to Internal Controls, Disaster Preparedness, Fraud, and Revenue Collections.

APT US & C Newsletters

Treasury Notes - The official periodical of APT US & C and is circulated to 2,000 public treasury and finance officials, university department heads, firms, state associations, and municipal leagues. This bi-monthly publication consists of treasury and finance-related articles that are submitted by public and private sector individuals and serves to inform and educate readers on current topics.

Technical Topics - Published quarterly and provides readers with an in-depth review of current technical issues in the public treasury and finance management arena.

Spotlights - Bi-monthly email sent to all members on upcoming events and new membership benefits.

Preferred Vendor Guide

APT US & C offers a listing of over 20 long-standing, and reputable Associate members and the services they provide. This is a quick reference to help our members find vendors who provide the services they need to perform their jobs. This guide offers direct links to preferred Web sites.

Mentoring Program

The APT US&C Mentoring Program is an invitation for public finance professionals at all levels to learn more about the public finance field, take advantage of education and training opportunities, develop a network with colleagues, and meet their individual potential with assistance from experienced public finance professionals. The Program is designed to help public finance professionals succeed, empower them to make decisions, inform them of methods to improve their delivery of efficient financial services to their community, and promote a sense of belonging.
